Williams Update

MemphisRoar was informed early this afternoon that 2009 prospect Latavious Williams is visiting Florida International this weekend.  Florida International has now come into the picture mainly due to Williams’ AAU coach Scooter Owens’ relationship with Isaiah Thomas.  According to multiple reports from Memphis and national media, Latavious Williams was favoring Memphis and was expected to announce either Monday or Tuesday.

MemphisRoar was able to catch up with Williams early today.  Williams informed MemphisRoar that he will no longer announce Monday or Tuesday, as once expected, and is not yet certain of a date when he will announce.  Williams said he will notify MemphisRoar as soon as a date and time is set.

Bledsoe Update

According to our sources, Eric Bledsoe’s visit with Memphis went very well.  Eric left sometime mid-afternoon on Saturday to fly to Lexington for his visit to the University of Kentucky, which will last until Monday.  Bledsoe will then return to Birmingham, Alabama, where he will then make a decision sometime later this week.  According to sources, Bledsoe toured the FedEx Forum and the University of Memphis’ campus on Friday.
Stephenson Update

As reported first by Adam Zagoria (see article here: link), Kevin Parrom chose to attend the University of Arizona.  Parrom’s decision does complicate Lance Stephenson’s decision to some degree, but does not put Arizona out of the picture.  According to sources, Memphis is “hanging in there” with Stephenson and is still in contention for the prized five-star recruit.
