Johnson Ready to Pick Up Where He Left Off
If you are wanting to hear a name that didn’t have a lot of buzz around it this summer, look no further than Kedren Johnson. Unfortunately for Johnson, the lack of buzz was out of his control. Coming off of an impressive performance at the Real Deal in the Rock in April, Johnson appeared to be set for a big summer. Sitting out the last portion of the weekend at the tournament in Little Rock, AR with what was thought to be a sprained ankle, Johnson realized shortly afterward that his summer was over.

What’s In a Name? Apparently Asprilla Means “Wait”
What’s in a name? According to a report published in 2007 by Guardian UK based upon several independent research institutes, a name can determine the person; personality, education level, likes, dislikes. In that report, UCLA professor Albert Mehrabian said, “A name is part of an impression package. It tells you a lot about a person.”
Success Skills Coach Jim Rohrbach, who is known to give motivational speeches to college basketball coaches across the country, said, “You’ve got to check your name and ego at the door, ’cause it’s all about the players — not you.”

Ballentine Thinking Bigger, Opens Recruitment
The lone commitment for the University of Memphis 2011 football recruiting class is no longer. Southwind High School’s Lonnie Ballentine, who currently sits on ESPN 150’s Watch List, has decommited from the University of Memphis.
“Lonnie is opening it back up,” said Ballentine’s mother in a brief telephone conversation on Thursday morning. ”He is decommiting now that he has offers from school like LSU, Alabama and Louisville.”
Ballentine is sure to be one of the top prospects locally and nationally for the 2011 class. Ballentine possesses the size, speed and talent that has college coaches standing up and taking notice. The well spoken Lonnie Ballentine took the time to talk with Memphis Roar’s Mark Wesley in early August, but it is apparent that things have changed in major ways over the last two months.
Stay tuned to Memphis Roar as we wait to hear back from Ballentine to get more details as to what exactly went into his decision and if the hometown school will get another look.
