Memphis Roar’s goal is to help promote and support athletics within the city of Memphis, including prep, collegiate and professional. With regard to the University of Memphis, our goal is to highlight its athletic endeavors by increasing coverage and educating fans on the latest news relevant to any and all things Memphis. Meet MemphisRoar Contributor Brooks
Brooks Hansen is the primary writer and scouting director for Memphis Roar. Brooks received his Bachelors of Arts and Sciences from the University of Memphis in 2005 in Psychology (minor of Philosophy and Biology) and went on to pursue his master’s degree in Experimental Neuroscience.
After some twists and turns in his professional career, Brooks has had the chance to contribute to multiple arenas of the sports world. With connections to multiple, varying types of sources and media members close to the Memphis program, Brooks has the ability to provide a unique perspective on the inner-workings of the Tigers’ athletic endeavors. Expanding his role over the last three years, Brooks has built a solid base of contacts within the high school and AAU basketball scene, has scouted some of the best events in the country and has been featured on some of the regions top radio shows.

Meet MemphisRoar Contributor Peyton
Peyton is a staff writer and scout for Memphis Roar. Peyton, who was born and raised in Memphis, currently resides in Greensboro, NC and attends college in North Carolina. He is majoring in media communications and minoring in Spanish.
Peyton has a passion for sports, especially college basketball. He has made connections in the recruiting scene by scouting and filming many of the top prospects in North Carolina. Peyton will be attending the University of Memphis in the spring semester of 2010 and looks forward to bringing more coverage of Memphis prospects to MemphisRoar.

Meet MemphisRoar Contributor Nikki
Currently a senior in college, Nikki brings a passion for sports and a desire to promote the University of Memphis to the fullest. Putting in the work it takes to be successful, Nikki’s vibrant personality will bring out a whole new dimension out in MemphisRoar’s video coverage.
Growing up in the mid-south, Nikki went to Horn Lake High School and serves there now as a dance team instructor. Nikki’s love of dance allowed her the opportunity to dance for the Redbirds baseball team in 2006. With the ultimate goal of being involved with sports reporting in some fashion, Nikki is one short year away from earning her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sales.
On the side, Nikki stays busy and active, recently ran the Nashville County Music Half Marathon, has a new addiction to skydiving and takes yoga classes.
