Add Memphis to Young’s Growing List

Posted by Matt Scott On August - 30 - 2010

BJ_YoungEvery year, there is a shift in names for every school across the country after the spring and summer periods. With the spring period no longer being open for college coaches to attend, it’s easy to see why so many fan-bases get antsy with no new names being added going into July and August. It simply takes longer for schools to evaluate new targets and shift focus. Coaches simply don’t get around to evaluating players until the summer period, which means new names have not appeared up until now. That said, here is a new name.

Well, we got our hands on some footage of the lightning-quick 6-foot-1 lead guard and it proved our suspicions that McClanahan is being severely overlooked. Check out the four minute highlight video of McClanahan going off for 51 points this past season for his high school and let us know what you think on our message board.

Memphis was the first to offer 2012 Demetris Morant

Memphis was the first to offer 2012 Demetris Morant

Dream Vision 17-and-unders were a traveling roadshow this summer. With Shabazz Muhammad and Winston Shepard headlining the tour, college coaches followed this group of elite ballers from tournament to tournament and gym to gym. Along the way, they made stopps at the Adidas Inviational, NY2LA Summer Jam, Adidas Super 64, and the Fab 48. While Muhammad was dropping 30-plus point games in the 17U brackets, 2012 big-man Demetris Morant suited up in the ranks of the 16U, playing well enough to garner his first offer.
