Seastrunk, who is considering Memphis, will decide on Jan. 27th.

Temple senior running back Lache Seastrunk has made official plans to announce his college decision on January 27th in a ceremony at his school per his head coach Bryce Monsen.

Seastrunk is Temple’s all-time leader in total touchdowns and rushing yards. The ceremony, which will be held at Temple High School’s gym, will begin at 4:15.

According to the ESPNU 150, Seastrunk is the sixth-rated running back in the country, the sixth-rated player from Texas and the 40th-ranked overall national recruit.

Coming off of the Army All-American, ESPN Scouts, Inc. #6-rated running back Lache Seastrunk had no idea what was on the horizon for the University of Southern California and their football program. By Monday night, Seastrunk and all of America had their answer. Lane Kiffin.

Before the news broke of Lane Kiffin’s hire, Seastrunk was scheduled to visit USC this coming weekend. Narrowing his choices to Oregon, USC, LSU, Auburn and Memphis, Seastrunk draws near to a decision with National Signing Day only three weeks away. The announcement of a new head coach for the Trojans did not change his decision on whether or not he would visit USC.

In yesterday’s 10th annual US Army All-American Game, Temple running back Lache Seastrunk got the football in his hands only four times. However, there certainly didn’t seem to be any disappointment for Seastrunk as he celebrated with his West team after its 30-14 win over the East at the Alamodome.

“We got the win – that’s all that counts,” Seastrunk said afterward. “Winning and being out there with that talent.”

Lache Seastrunk has spent months whittling down his list of schools under consideration. As perhaps the top running back in the 2010 class, the 5-11 190 pound back from Temple, Texas has had his choices laid out for him for quite a while. All of the biggest schools want him to anchor their recruiting class: Florida, Miami, Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma, and the list goes on. Seastrunk narrowed his list recently. He is now down to LSU, Auburn, USC, Oregon and Memphis.

Stop. LSU, Auburn, USC, Oregon… and Memphis? You read it correctly.
