That's a huge get! First 4-star player to stay home in Porter's tenure.

That's common. I get called coach all the time...by players...coaches...parents...other media...whoever. LOL. It's a replacement for someone's name when you don't know it or forgot it. hahaha

This is proof that larry is the recruiter of the century. He feels comfortable with the coach and players and Larry reminds him of the coaches that taught him a lot. He wants some great talent there with him also. He can pursuade some others four star players to stay and play and we can build a Dynasty. Thank you Will Gross for commiting to my Alma Mater and I will keep my four sets of season tickets thank you. This is a great pick up for Larry Porter and Memphis, Go WILL GROSS, GO Coach Larry Porter. GO TIGERS GO!!!!!!!!!!

We're having Fun now!!!!!

So my biggest concern is grades. 2.6 is okay, but the 16 act is not going to cut it. I hope he can improve it next time around, and if he does I hope he stays committed to us.

Wow, does this forum even get used? We pick up the best recruit in the CLP era and there's nothing here. :bang:

Anyways, go Will, go CLP, and GTG!!

There's nothing wrong with the kid calling it "Memphis State." It just shows that he's aware of the college's history. I probably kept calling U of M "Memphis State" 10 years after the name change.

I have no problem with it because I still call it that every once in a while. I just know it riles a lot of people up.

I see a lot of posts here. This is the merged thread. Anyways, it appears that Gross is still committed but keeping his options open, including taking visits.

Rivals.com is reporting that a top DB out of Florida has Memphis at the top of his list & may be close to making the call. Does anyone know who this kid is?

If Gross choses to honor his commitment, he could do for FB what Larry Finch did for BB. He would become a legend in Memphis

Tiger basketball existed before Finch. Eugene Lambert and Bob Vanatta has some incredible runs back in the 50s and 60s. Finch came around after a dry spell during the Ehler and Iba years.

It takes a lot more than one guy in football. We had DeAngleo Williams but he was much better with Danny Wimprine. And even then, the team went downhill fast after he left.

Coach Porter is one heck of a recruiter, but it's up to us to make his job easier. Give him the tools to work with. People need to keep contributing to the indoor practice facility. Once that's done, we need to work on additional upgrades to facilities. It's amazing how much better a coach becomes if he has great recruits.
