that sure would be something if porter could get him in here

wouldn't that be a kick in the rear. He needs to look at D Williams, All Pro Running and think how his chances would be in the NFL. Memphis has connections in the NFL
Pittsburg ETC

Very low odds but would be beyond awesome

Lache Seastrunk is a special talent. I've been paying attention to this kid since last April and he has ridiculous break away speed once he hits the corner. He's very highly sought-after and deservedly so. He does have a good head on his shoulders and he's a good kid all around, and he does like making scouts, recruiters, and fans really wonder about his decision. At one camp, he was wearing an LSU head band, a USC shirt, and Auburn shorts. Just saying he can be unpredictable, but he does it for the fun of the recruiting process which he doesn't take for granted.

USC might be out since it looks like Carroll may go. Now we only have to beat out Auburn, LSU, and Oregon. No sweat.

I think LSU is out too; Porter was the reason he was considering Baton Rouge.

Earlier this week, rivals said tomorrow he was going to say it was down to Oregon and USC, now it might be just Oregon as the leader, tomorrow we should know more

Memphis

Seastrunk would immediately play at this school. He would step into a program that has inferior talent. They had a poor O-Line in 2009 and the prospects of this improving are slim in 2010. They certainly could use his talent in many ways. However, going here would certainly diminish his value and exposure to the NFL

Somebody have Deangelo Williams call this guy and rebuke that last sentence!!

Lache Seastrunk will be on the list of college players for NFL scoouts to watch from day one of his career regardless of what college he choses to attend.

When compared to the other schools on his list, he would get less exposure. I think that is what it was saying. Plus I thnk DW "might" have had more talent around him.

That being said, it would be obviously huge.

Goes to show that Porter is a dynamic recruiter with a bright future ahead of him. Go Tigers!

Anyone know how likely we are to get him?

Anyone know how likely we are to get him?

Common sense tells me not likely. His top five in no order are Memphis, Auburn, Oregon, LSU, and USC. There are a ton of variables here.

1) Auburn signed a top 3 RB this year already and Ben Tate is a senior
2) Pete Carroll left USC and they are likely to be experiencing some NCAA fallout very soon
3) Porter was trying to bring him on at LSU and now Porter is here
4) LSU signed the 9th best RB this season, but Lache is better than him
5) LSU top 2 RBs were seniors
6) LSU has Les Miles and he is incompetent

So that leaves Oregon and Memphis. Honestly, the kid would be a beast in Oregon's offense. Oregon does have freshman LaMichael James who ran for 1,546 yards and 14 touchdowns. The only place Seastrunk is a for sure starter and does not split reps is Memphis. LSU has the 2009 #7 RB on their roster and Auburn has the 2007 #3 RB and the 2009 #16.

I doubt we get him, but just to be in the conversation is nice. He would put up huge numbers here for a coach who was position coach for several NFL pros. Just depends on his relationship with Porter and what Porter can sell him. The guy is a probably a pro no matter where he goes.

There are definitely several things working in our favor, but schools like Auburn have never had problems with convincing several elite RBs at once. They had Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams running wild with Brandon Jacobs as the #3. That is some talent. Same story for LSU and USC, but if ever there was a time when things seemed to be moving even slightly in our favor for a big fish it seems to be now. The odds are still very low we get him, but just glad to be in the conversation.

Auburn is also in the running for another top running back Marcus Lattimore and they already have Micheal Dyer committed. If Lattimore goes to Auburn there is no way Seastrunk goes there.
