Five-Star RB Recruit Lache Seastrunk: Where Will He Decide to Commit? (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/329522-five-star-rb-recruit-lache-seastrunk-where-will-he-decide-to-commit)
Memphis Part:
The Tigs may seem like an odd choice, until you consider Seastrunk's past relationship with former LSU running backs coach/recruiting coordinator and new Memphis head coach Larry Porter.
LSU's loss could be Memphis' huge gain, and the pitch is perfect. Porter is a young, exciting African-American head coach at a rebuilding university that only a few years ago featured a breakout running back who is now making waves in the NFL.
If Seastrunk's play is that he wants to carry a team on his shoulders, there's really no better place for him than Memphis. If he wants to compete for national championships, that's another story.
I still like Memphis' chances and think they're coming on strong to close his recruitment. It's a dream scenario, but maybe Porter is persuasive enough to make it a reality.

Look, I'm perfectly happy to be thrilled our hat may be on the desk.... Don't go getting my hopes up about the real thing... Just too new to this football recruiting thing, it's nice to have the problem but man it wrecks my work day!

No details yet. It was in the works. It's not looking positive that it is going to happen anymore.

If Masoli plays, it will be a double digit win regardless of Lache's decision. JMO.

I'm not holding out any hope that he picks Memphis at this point but please, please have a Tigers hat on the table/podium. I just think it would be a major plus for recruiting if he validated the interest with just this small sign....

I agree with double digit either way, I was saying 21-28 points
Yes please have the Tiger hat for the photos
ESPN Insider says its now down to Oregon and Memphis. Making the final 2 I think is awesome

Nice idea in theory, but the Gestapo (a.k.a. the NCAA) is looking for any excuse to throw the hammer down on us since we appealed the decision of their precious committee to have our '08 BB wins vacated.
Those hypocrites work my LAST nerve!

I do not understand why he would want to be one of 4 RB's at Oregon when he could be such a force at Memphis, but its his life

True, but let's face it. Oregon has taken over as "the" team in the Pac-10, just made a BCS Bowl appearance, will probably be a pre-season Top 10 team next fall.
Memphis, while making strides with a new coach and new facilities, is in a less-than-desirable conference (if you believe the pundits) that gets precious little or no network TV time.
But the "Big Fish, Little Pond" v. "Little Fish, Big Pond" cliche definitely applies here. We'll soon find out.

just look @ the running backs that the CUSA has had in the NFL over the past few years ... and they are STARTING running backs.
1) Chris Johnson
2) DeAngelo Williams
3) Kevin Smith
i'm sure there a few more ... michael bush played @ the 'ville and he is doing quite well in oakland with that 3-headed rb attack ...

"The US Army All-American will select from a host of suitors today, but conventional wisdom suggests that the Ducks, along with Auburn, LSU, Baylor, Memphis, and perhaps Tennessee and USC have the best shot at landing the signature for his services"

Yep. We can put them in the NFL as well as anyone else. But have you ever seen the facilities at Oregon? Unbelievable - I think best in country. Kids like that. I'm proud we went after him though.
