This year, Thomas had 35 solo tackels (37 total) with 8 being for a total loss of 50 yeards. He had 8 sacks for a total loss of 16.5 yards while forcing 2 fumbles in only 9 games. He was the main piece of the puzzle for Mesa CC's defense.

He has a great combination of attitude and skill. DT should get some serious playing time on defense next season.

Plus it is a position of need. We are thin on talent and bodies at defensive end. The three high school defensive ends (Devin Clark, Corey Jones, and Martin Ifedi) will all get a chance to compete for playing time. Daniel Thomas will come in and contribute immediately. One side note on the defensive end position, I think it was a really good move putting Winston "The Predator" Bowens at defensive end. He's a hitter and is well built. He was probably a step slow for linebacker but could excel on the defensive line, IMHO.
