Tigers 2010 Signee Video

Here's one of the Tigers' baseball signees from the 2010 class: Cody Geyer. This is a video of Cody in the homerun showdown that also featured probably the #1 pick this year's MLB draft, Bryce Harper. Memphis was able to snag this kid with power. He hit a 406 ft bomb at Tropicana Field in Tampa, FL, which was the longest homerun for a players using a wood bat. His swing reminds me a lot of Cal Ripken, Jr. At the time, Geyer measured in at 5'10, 193 lbs. My guess is that he has grown since then; at least I hope. Check him out!

wonder how the tigers got this kid out of north carolina with all the good teams in those areas, must be leaning towards the draft. Would like to see the tigers get him, but will probably be tough to get to college would be my guess

Yeah, from what I've been told he may not make it to Memphis past the draft. Some projecting him in the 16th round.

He wasn't drafted, surprisingly enough, but he's going to Walters State (TN) JC instead of Memphis, in hopes of getting his draft stock improved enough to be in the '11 draft.
