I would like to see an issue and then perhaps subscribe. I would not buy it sight unseen though.

Agee. I prefer local productions for HS sports and this is produced in Florida.

Stump Martin is the editor of this mag. He's a local Chattanooga guy. They've been doing the mag for about 5 years now. Maybe longer. I don't write for them or anything. They asked me if I'd post it on my HS site (TNVarsity) for them to sell. This is the 1st year I've done that. I've always bought them in the past. At least now I'll get it for free since I agreed to post their link on the site.

Where do they get their info? I am a fan of West TN football, and Chattanooga is along way from here. If they are getting info from like our local sportswriters, then I'll simply read our local guys' take on teams like the Covington Chargers in the local newspaper. We get a really good pre-season summary in the Covington Leader, e.g.

Got the mag in the mail today and it shows some of the writers are Scott Herpst, John Moorehouse, Andre Johnson, Jim Steele, and David Shelton.

Overall its pretty good, I like it. I haven't seen Murphy's mag yet so I can't compare the two

I've heard Jim Steele on the radio and he's an idiot UTK fan from McKenzie. I wouldn't put a lot of faith in what he's reporting.

For a quick cheap (free) read on HS sports, I recommend the "On The Ball" magazine. They typically put out a preseason edition, then a couple more during the semester. There is one dedicated specifically to West Tennessee. It is produced in Jackson, TN and they use local school and newspaper writers for each individual school covered. It is usually distributed free through the schools and local retail stores.
