The plot thickens. Seems like this must be the squealer, I just wonder what kind of dirt he has. Perhaps he's pissed about being replaced, and that's his motivation for doing this...

And so the coverup begins. "Batley went rogue. John had no idea what he was doing until he reviewed the phone records/email list/bank accounts."
Two months later Batley returns to the team. John says, "Everyone deserves a second chance. We just can't give up on a grown man who makes mistakes. It takes a village people. It takes a village. Bilal has been hanging around, making phone calls on his own time, paying players under the table to come out of his own pocket, really owning his performance. Welcome back Bilal."

I am confused, do we think he is a squealer or the cheater? I was under the impression this was about something he did at UK, not that he was spilling the beans on something that happened.

I wonder if Navarro College was ever hit with NCAA sanctions while Bilal was there?

That is unless you get kicked off the train.

Where did everyone get the crazy idea that someone was going to squeal?

Maybe "squeal" is too strong of a word, but surely there is an informant if there is an article?

There is no informant. Why does there HAVE to be an informant?

I think what he is saying is the information had to come from somewhere. Unless it falls under some kind of freedom of information act. Someone would have to say something. Be it the recruit or someone within the program.

Yes, this is what I mean. I don't mean that there is necessarily an angry mole somewhere, just that the information has to be coming from somewhere.

...so in the end I had Bilal sign a contract and we are good to go. After all look what signing a contract did for Pierre Niles, he loves me so much he's actually loosing the weight after my departure, I'm good, read my latest book, it's fate.

Being let go was a result; not a call to action.

You're being funny, but I for one wouldn't be surprised to hear Ex Coach spin it like that....

The University will suffer no more as a result of the Calipari era at the hands of the NCAA. They have moved on.

Interesting now from Goodman about who is replacing Batley.
Quote:
CALIPARI HIRES LEBRON'S BOY AS GRADUATE ASSISTANT
Rick Pitino brought on one of Marquis Teague's "guys" as a graduate assistant, but John Calipari may have one-upped his rival from down the road.
Calipari has added Brandon Weems as a graduate assistant.
No, Weems doesn't have a connection with a particular recruit as Shabaka Lands did with Teague.
However, Weems has one connection that could be extremely valuable.
Weems was a teammate of LeBron James' back at St. Vincent-St. Mary (Ohio) and is one of LeBron's closest friends. One source told me that Weems' presence in Lexington was key in LeBron showing up on the campus during the summer.
"You could say he's in LeBron's inner circle," said Walsh University head coach Jeff Young, who coached Weems at the Division II school. "They grew up together."
This will further a relationship between LeBron and Calipari that has been aided by William Wesley (aka Worldwide Wes), who is close with both parties.
Young confirmed to FOXSports.com that Weems has been brought on by Kentucky.
"He's a great kid," Young said of his former player. "He's a four-year starter, an All-American and one of the best kids I've ever been around. He's a winner."
